Here's my problem with this collection -- Ellison, who is a curmudgeon of the highest order (and I'm very fond of curmudgeon's) saw fit in include long introductory essays at the start of each story, in which he pontificates loudly about his own genius. Alas, that does ruin the effect. Snort.
